Codifies the duty of real estate brokers to supervise salespersons and associate brokers through regular, frequent and consistent personal guidance, instruction and oversight; lists elements of supervision including the ability to familiarize salespersons with state and federal laws against discrimination.
Provides that limited liability for persons held jointly liable shall not apply to parties held liable for failing to provide reasonable security or failing to provide security required by federal, state or local law, rules or regulations.
Creates a civil cause of action for the manufacture, sale, or distribution of assault weapons or ghost guns within the state; aiding and abetting such manufacture, sale or distribution; or intending to aid and abet in such manufacture, sale or distribution; provides for a civil remedy of ten thousand dollars per violation.
Requires more specific data reporting by the chief administrator to include information relating to all courts in the unified court system, including town and village courts.
Compels the delivery of real property subject to a fraudulent transfer to the person entitled thereto; provides for the recording of judgments and orders relating to a fraudulent conveyance of title to property.
Establishes a housing court for actions and proceedings involving the enforcement of state and local laws for the establishment and maintenance of housing standards; makes related provisions.
Requires certain information regarding evidence that provides the basis for each asbestos-related personal injury or wrongful death claim against a defendant.
Provides for review of bail data reports by the state commission on judicial conduct to study such reports for evidence of bias or prejudice by any judge or justice, and where appropriate based on such reports, to initiate, investigate, and hear complaints and otherwise comment on matters of bias and prejudice evidenced therein.
Enacts the "tenants organizing act"; allows tenants' groups, committees or other tenants' organizations to invite outside guests or visitors including elected officials, services providers, housing lawyers, etc. without being required to pay fees; defines "tenants' organization"; provides for activities that tenants' organizations can take part in; provides for the manner in how a tenants' organization is established.
Provides that an electronic marketplace provider shall be deemed to be a retailer for purposes of New York strict liability law and shall be strictly liable for all damages caused by defective products placed into the stream of commerce to the same extent that a retailer of that defective product would be liable.
