Relates to the purchase of zero-emission buses and the procurement of electric-powered buses, vehicles or other related equipment and infrastructure; requires public utilities to have infrastructure, capacity, facilities, and transmission and distribution systems needed to supply power for the charging of zero-emission buses and provides a tariff for charging of electric buses.
Relates to attendance policies for employees of the metropolitan transportation authority or contractors of Nassau and Suffolk counties providing public transportation regarding time off for medical services and court appearances.
Prohibits the disclosure of individualized fare payment data by the metropolitan commuter transportation authority and the New York city transit authority for the purpose of maintaining customer privacy; provides certain exceptions when such data can be disclosed.
Designates a portion of state route 111 in the towns of Islip and Smithtown as the "Port Authority Police Officer Steven J. Tursellino Memorial Highway".
Requires transportation network companies to notify passengers who have reported an incident of sexual assault that occurred during a TNC prearranged trip that the TNC will not report such incident to law enforcement; requires TNCs to advise every passenger that reports an incident of sexual assault that occurred during a TNC prearranged trip of their right to make a report to local law enforcement or the state police.
Provides that within a county that has established a traffic and parking violations agency and a liability is disposed of by such agency, eighty percent of such fine or penalty shall be paid to the thruway authority, and twenty percent of such fine or penalty shall be paid to the county in which the violation giving rise to the liability occurred; makes related provisions.
Requires a 60 day license suspension for any driver convicted of 2 speeding violations within a school zone, committed within an 18 month period of time.
Requires motor vehicle dealers to disclose price markups to the purchasers of motor vehicles; provides failure to so disclose shall be grounds for revocation of the dealer's registration and imposes civil liability to purchasers for damages; authorizes the financial frauds and consumer protection unit of the department of financial services to study problematic practices in the price markups of motor vehicle dealers.
Authorizes the issuance of "Blue Star Mother" and "Blue Star Family" distinctive license plates for parents and family members of active duty service members; establishes the "blue star mothers and families support fund".
Relates to the "Heather D. Heyer act" which increases penalties where a vehicle is used as a weapon in a hate crime and makes it illegal to travel upon a roadway in a vehicle within 1000 feet of a protest.
