Establishes a real property tax exemption for the primary residence of a member of the armed forces engaged in hazardous service; provides the state shall compensate municipalities for lost tax revenue resulting from such exemption.
Establishes the veterans' organization relief fund to be expended only for the aid and assistance of veterans' organizations; establishes the gift for the veterans' organizations relief fund; makes a one hundred million dollar appropriation therefor; makes related provisions.
Permits Gold Star families to use any of the public campsites, parks and other public places of recreation in this state free of charge; defines "veteran".
Relates to certificates of honorable separation from or service in the armed forces of the United States; provides that such certificates shall be forwarded to the appropriate local veterans' service agency within 60 days of receipt.
Authorizes municipalities to offer a real property tax exemption for property owned by certain persons performing active duty in a combat zone in an amount to the extent of fifteen percent of the assessed value of the real property, but shall not exceed twelve thousand dollars.
Authorizes a veteran's close friend or family who is reasonably familiar with such veteran's wishes to request that such veteran be buried in a state veterans' cemetery.
