Establishes the New York state organized retail crime task force to provide the governor and the legislature with information on organized retail crime and various countermeasures to counter losses from such crime in the state.
Modifies the retirement program for Triborough bridge and tunnel members to a twenty-year retirement program; clarifies the statutory peace officer designation of certain employees of the Triborough bridge and tunnel authority.
Extends the authority of the county of Nassau to impose hotel and motel taxes; extends the expiration of certain provisions relating to a surcharge on tickets to places of entertainment in such county, a charge for copying and searching for police accident reports, and receipt of service charges by the Nassau county traffic and parking violations agency; extends the authority of Nassau County to impose additional sales and compensating use taxes and local government assistance programs in Nassau County.
Safeguards cash accounts for people with developmental disabilities in a facility under the control of the commissioner of mental health, the commissioner of the office for people with developmental disabilities and the commissioner of alcoholism and substance abuse services.
Authorizes the county of Nassau assessor to accept an application for a real property tax exemption from Torah Ohr Hebrew Academy for a portion of the 2021-2022 school taxes, a portion of the 2021 general taxes and all of the 2022 general taxes.
Provides tax credit to certain volunteer firefighters, volunteer ambulance workers, volunteer reserve forces officers, auxiliary police officers and volunteer emergency medical personnel under certain circumstances.
