Authorizes the town of Wawayanda to establish community preservation funds; establishes a real estate transfer tax with revenues therefrom to be deposited in said community preservation fund.
Enacts the "New York travel insurance act" regulating the licensing and registration of limited lines travel insurance producers and travel retailers, and the sale and marketing of travel insurance and related products.
Establishes a private cause of action for certain violations regarding machine-guns, assault weapons, disguised guns, ghost guns, and unfinished frames or receivers.
Provides for the adjustment of the minimum amount of tax delinquency for which the driver's license of a taxpayer may be suspended, based on inflation; prohibits inclusion in the license suspension program of a taxpayer who receives public assistance or supplemental security income, or whose income does not exceed 250% of the poverty level; authorizes the commissioner to grant exemptions to taxpayers whose payment of past due tax liabilities would create a hardship to the taxpayer in meeting necessary living expenses.
Permits the principal of any high school to allow any local fire department, upon request, to enter the school for the purpose of fire department junior recruitment, including, but not limited to: making presentations; disseminating literature; and answering questions by students.
Directs the department of transportation to conduct a traffic and planning study on the feasibility of transforming the Harriman campus in connection with the relocation of the Wadsworth Laboratory at Harriman; directs a report on the findings of such study to be delivered within one year of effectiveness.
Categorizes the assault of a code enforcement official or other individual responsible for building inspection performing his or her lawful duties under such position as a class D felony.
Authorizes municipalities and the department of financial services to seek civil penalties for violations of the duty to maintain a foreclosed property in an amount of up to $500 per day for each day such violation persists after the judgement of foreclosure has been issued.
Categorizes the assault of an individual responsible for local parking enforcement performing his or her lawful duties under such position as a class D felony.
Establishes a registry in New York city for residents who do not want circulars or other printed material or samples of a commercial nature left at their residence.
Expands the definition of veteran to include members of the United States public health service to provide such members with access to the same benefits as members of the United States armed forces.
