Establishes the Healthy Cardiac Monitoring Act; requires certain medical professionals that provide physical examinations to individuals nineteen years of age or younger to be periodically educated in cardiac health; requires students who participate in athletic programs to have an additional cardiac health physical examination prior to participating; makes various provisions relating thereto.
Establishes a COVID-19 relief grant program for veterans service organizations impacted by COVID-19 to provide grants to eligible veterans service organizations to defray certain expenses of the organization including rent, utilities, scheduled mortgage payments, scheduled debt payments and other ordinary and necessary business expenses; makes an appropriation therefor.
Directs the department of health to conduct a study on opening three new veterans nursing homes in New York state; provides for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof.
Establishes the "division of research and analysis" which is a part of the legislative library and assists members of the legislature by providing research and analysis on policy.
Establishes the senior housing accessibility study group to examine and make recommendations for amending the New York state uniform fire prevention and building code to improve and enhance accessibility requirements for all newly constructed or substantially reconstructed senior housing developments.
Requires a state agency to get approval from the senate and the assembly prior to adopting or readopting a rule on an emergency basis unless such rule is necessary on an emergency basis for the preservation of the public health, safety and general welfare of the public.
Describes the role of the ignition interlock monitor as well as requirements of people charged with violations that require the installation of an ignition interlock device to comply with court orders.
