Directs the division of criminal justice services, in consultation with the office of temporary and disability assistance, to establish a universal, statewide human trafficking hotline to provide individuals in the state access to appropriate counselling and services for human trafficking victims.
Directs the department of social services of the city of New York, in consultation with the department of housing preservation and development, to provide shelter to victims of human trafficking at a residential program exclusively for victims of human trafficking.
Provides for priority for applications and expedited determination of claims for a human trafficking victim who wishes to remove permanent marks that were part of the trafficking of such victim, including but not limited to, tattoos, markings, brandings, or other symbols or insignia.
Requires a course of study in the awareness and prevention of human trafficking defined by the commissioner of education in regulations after consultation with the division of criminal justice services designed to educate students, parents and school personnel about the signs of human trafficking.
Expedites the distributions of funds for the supervision and treatment services for juveniles program; requires that eligible municipalities receive the sum equivalent to at least their last approved supervision and treatment services for juveniles program plan.
Directs the metropolitan transportation authority, in consultation with the New York city department of transportation and New York city department of housing preservation and development, to study the transportation and housing needs of Randalls and Wards Islands.
Enacts the safer consumption services pilot program act which provides for the establishment of a pilot program to provide overdose prevention center pilot programs.
Creates a revolving loan fund through the New York state energy research and development authority for the purpose of building renewable energy storage systems scaled to function as microgrids to power housing owned by the New York city housing authority.
Requires the public service commission and the Long Island power authority to establish standards of acceptable performance for gas and electric corporations.
