Increases the penalties for overtaking and passing a school bus; provides that for the first conviction a person shall be punished by a fine of not less than $350 nor more than $500; provides that for a second conviction a person shall be punished by a fine of not less than $500 nor more than $800; also provides that for a third conviction a person shall be punished by a fine of not less than $800 nor more than $1000.
Requires institutions of higher education to implement a policy that documentation of an individualized education program (IEP) is sufficient proof that a student enrolled in or admitted to an institution of higher education has a disability.
Establishes a tax credit for certain volunteers at 501(c)(3) organizations or organizations affiliated with NY Cares or NY Service who provide at least twenty-five hours of service during the year.
Allows a licensed pharmacist to prescribe and order FDA-approved medication assisted therapy under a non-patient-specific regimen for the treatment of opioid use disease.
Adds a person having been previously convicted of petit larceny two times within any three month period or three times within any twelve month period to the definition of grand larceny in the fourth degree.
Expands the definition of crops, livestock and livestock products to include purpose-bred animals raised for research, service animals, working dogs or any working animals in service on a farm.
Requires more specific data reporting by the chief administrator to include information relating to all courts in the unified court system, including town and village courts.
Prohibits cannabis retail and on-site consumption licensees from operating such premises within one thousand feet of school grounds or a child day care center.
Establishes state procurement goals for New York state products throughout state agencies and private entities performing state contracts; provides that every year after enactment, a certain percentage of products purchased by state agencies will be New York state products, with such percentage threshold increasing each year up until five years.
Permits an eligible individual's parent, adult child or in-law relative to be a personal assistant under the consumer directed personal assistance program.
