Authorizes Justin Finkle to take the competitive civil service examination for the position of police officer and be placed on the eligible list for employment as a full-time police officer for the town of Bethlehem; requires that Justin Finkle be otherwise subject to the merit and fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police officers.
Relates to the use of automated lending decision-making tools by banks for the purposes of making lending decisions; allows loan applicants to consent to or opt out of such use.
Establishes protections for minors who are featured in influencer-generated content that generate earnings from being shared on social media or other video-sharing websites.
Prohibits dry cleaning establishments from returning clothing to customers in single use garment bags; allows dry cleaning establishments to return clothing to customers in reusable bags provided by such customers or offer for sale a reusable bag.
Addresses the financial, health care, educational, and workforce needs of disabled veterans and their families by providing tax relief, expanding health care access, enhancing education benefits, and improving workforce protections.
Directs the department of health to create an informational pamphlet concerning intrauterine devices; requires such informational pamphlet to be available on the department of health's website; requires practitioners to distribute such informational pamphlet to patients seeking contraceptives.
Provides that no provision of section eighty of the civil service law shall modify, replace or supersede any provision of a collective bargaining agreement that provides for greater rights than required by such section.
Enacts the "Supervising Upcoming Professionals for Practice in Official Roles in Therapy (SUPPORT) act"; provides that for licensure as a clinical social worker, an applicant may satisfy the experience requirements under supervision of a mental health practitioner who has been granted the privilege to diagnose and develop assessment-based treatment plans under article one hundred sixty-three of the education law.
Establishes rehabilitation programs within secure treatment facilities for persistent criminal offenders who have been convicted of ten or more violent criminal offenses; establishes eligibility criteria for rehabilitation programs, including requiring a hearing and finding by the court that demonstrates that the persistent criminal offender's criminal pattern and risk to public safety or themselves.
Restricts amplified sound coming from motor vehicles; allows for exceptions for certain police vehicles and certain vehicles used for business or political purposes.
Enacts the "AC in residencies (AIR) act"; requires the installation of permanent cooling and dehumidification equipment in at least one indoor common gathering space in certain multiple dwellings and multiple residences.
Requires schools safety plans to include a cardiac emergency response plan that addresses the use of appropriate personnel and measures to respond to incidents involving any individual experiencing sudden cardiac arrest or similar life-threatening emergency on any school site owned or operated by a school or at a location of a school sponsored event.
