Enacts the "corporate political activity accountability to shareholders act"; requires that corporate contributions to a political candidate or party committee or in support or opposition to a candidate or ballot referendum be approved by a majority of shareholders; applies to cooperative corporations, not-for-profit corporations, railroad and transportation corporations.
Clarifies the definition of persons with a disability for purposes of the definition of special populations to include people with a mental health diagnosis, people on the office of mental health caseload, people with an intellectual, developmental or cognitive diagnosis, people with physical disability or mobility impairment, and people with a sensorial disability diagnosis.
Relates to prohibiting contract provisions that waive certain substantive and procedural rights relating to a claim of discrimination, non-payment of wages or benefits, retaliation, harassment or violation of public policy in employment.
Requires the department of health to evaluate and make recommendations related to maternal health care and birthing best practices; repeals certain provisions.
Relates to the statewide presumptive eligibility standard; authorizes local social services districts to utilize child care block grant funds for the presumptive eligibility period to the extent permitted by federal law; amends the effectiveness thereof.
Includes guardians of the principal as a person who may commence certain special proceedings; provides that if a hospital can with reasonable efforts ascertain the identity of the parents or guardian of an emancipated minor patient and obtain such parent's or guardian's contact information, the hospital shall notify such persons, and document such notification in the patient's medical record, prior to withholding or withdrawing life-sustaining treatment.
Relates to the termination of subsidies provided to adoptive parents for disabled or hard to place children; replaces references of "assistance" with "subsidy"; changes the effective date to 90 days.
Requires the commissioner of the office of temporary and disability assistance to provide for automated identification of OTDA program participants for participation in utility corporation affordability programs for water service affordability.
Requires electronic benefit transfer systems to allow for benefit recipients to cancel, lock or unlock a card associated with electronic benefit transfer services when fraud has been suspected or reported; amends the effectiveness thereof.
