A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring the Russia High School boys basketball team
on winning the 2025 Division VII State
Championship.
WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly
of Ohio are pleased to congratulate the Russia High School boys
basketball team as the 2025 Division VII State Champion; and
WHEREAS, A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the
Russia High School boys basketball team have combined talent and
spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable
dedication, the players have worked diligently toward attaining
ultimate proficiency in basketball, and as a result, they won this
year’s Division VII State Championship, finished the season with a
perfect 29-0 record, and secured the one thousandth victory in program
history; and
WHEREAS, The achievements and leadership of the Russia High School
boys basketball team are a justifiable source of pride and an
excellent reflection on the members, their families, their school,
their community, and their coaches. In leading this team to victory,
the coaching staff has not only helped the athletes to develop their
talents to the fullest but also instilled in them a valuable sense of
determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and
WHEREAS, With athletic competition playing such an important role
in the total education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay
tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coaches for
a job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have
gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in

meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General
Assembly of Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Russia High
School boys basketball team on its tremendous season and honor the
members and coaches as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly
authenticated copy of this Resolution to the Russia High School boys
basketball team.
