AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to counties and county officers; 
amending 19 O.S. 2011, Section 377, which relates to 
data processing technicians; authorizing counties to 
employ information technology staff; updating 
references; eliminating technician employment term 
cap; and providing an effective date. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY     19 O.S. 2011, Section 377, is 
amended to read as follows: 
Section 377.  The board of county commissioners of any county 
may employ a competent information technology (IT) staf f and a data 
processing technician , who shall perform the duties of IT management 
or data processing management as prescribed and directed by the 
board of county commissioners , and such data processing technician 
shall not be employed beyond the term of of fice of the board of

county commissioners employing him .  The said IT staff and data 
processing technician shall receive as compensation a salary 
salaries to be fixed by the board of county commissioners for his 
their services, to be paid out of the genera l operating fund of the 
county.  The compensations of the director and such personnel IT 
staff and data processing technician shall not be governed by the 
"Comprehensive Salary Code". 
The IT staff and data processing technician shall be covered by 
the county blanket bond. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2021 .
