AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to schools; mandating counseling and
guidance services for students; setting minimum ratio
of students to certified school counselors; providing
for codification; and providing an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1210.711 of Title 70, unless
there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
All students attending public schools in the state shall receive
counseling and guidance services from certified school counselors.
Each school district shall pro vide one certified school counselor
for not more than two hundred fifty students, with no school
district having less than one certified school counselor who is
employed at least half -time.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective Novemb er 1, 2021.
