An Act relating to public buildings and public works; 
providing for display of the national motto in 
certain state buildings; authorizing certain entities 
to provide legal defense; providing for meaning of 
display; providing for codification; and providing a n 
effective date. 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 335 of Title 61, unless there is 
created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
A.  The Office of Management and Enterpr ise Services shall 
display the national motto of the United States in a prominently 
visible location in all state buildings.  The placement and size of 
the display shall be in keeping wi th the placement and size of the 
display of the national motto in the United States Capitol Visitor 
Center in a manner proportional to the state building where the

display is placed.  The Office of Management and Enterprise Services 
shall be directly respo nsible for the provisions of this act, 
including any related expenses. 
B.  In the event that the legality or constitutionality of the 
display is challenged in a court of law, the Oklahoma Attorney 
General is hereby authorized to prepare and present a legal defense 
of the display. 
C.  The display of the national motto shall n ot be construed to 
mean that the State of Oklahoma favors any particular religion or 
denomination thereof over others. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective Novembe r 1, 2021.
