HOUSE BILL 2330 By: Steagall
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to water s and water rights; amending
82 O.S. 2011, Section 1020.21, which relates to w ells
within municipalities; requiring wells on platted
lands to be certain distance from corporate limits;
allowing drilling of wells on certain land; and
providing an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 82 O.S. 2011, Section 1020.21, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 1020.21 A municipality has the authority to regulate or
permit the drilling of domestic and industrial water wells within
its corporate limits. A mu nicipality may use the water allocated to
the platted land within its corporate limits provided the
municipality can make water available to the platted land, a permit
therefor is obtained from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, and
the wells are located on platted land shall be not less than six

hundred (600) feet within its limits , and such. Such wells are may
be drilled on the platted land or dedicated land.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
