AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to elections; imposing term limits on 
members of the United States House of Representatives 
and the United States Senate; providing for 
limitation applicable to combined years of service in 
either chamber of Congress; providing limitation 
inapplicable to periods of time for vacancy; 
providing for codification; and providing an 
effective date. 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 17-151 of Title 26, unless there 
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
A.  Effective November 1, 2022, the term of office for each 
member of the United States House of Representatives and the term of 
office for each member of the United States Senate representing the 
State of Oklahoma in the United States Congress shall be limited to 
a total of twelve (12) years. 
B. The limit prescribed by subsection A of this section shall 
be the cumulative total period of service in both the United States 
House of Representatives and the United States Senate.

C.  The provisions of this section shall not be applicable to 
any period of time that a person is elected to fill a vacancy in 
either the United States House of Representatives or the United 
States Senate. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
