AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to public health; requiring newbo rn 
screening specimens to be evaluated and reported 
within forty-eight hours of collection; providing for 
codification; and providing an effectiv e date. 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codi fied 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1-534.01 of Title 63, unless 
there is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
Any specimen collected pursuant to the newborn screening program 
set forth in Sections 1-533 and 1-534 of Title 63 of the O klahoma 
Statutes shall be evaluated by a l aboratory and the results reported 
to the screening hospital or physician within forty -eight (48) hours 
of the collection of such specimen . 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2022.
