SENATE BILL 1673 By: Pugh
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to higher education; requir ing a
board of regents of certain institution to publicly
disclose certain names prior to enter ing into certain
contract; providing for codification; providing an
effective date; and declaring an emergency .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codifie d
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3251 of Title 70, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
Prior to entering into a contract with a president of an
institution within The Oklahoma State System of Higher Education,
the board of regents for each institution within The Oklahoma S tate
System of Higher Education shall publicly disclose the names of the
final three candidates being considered for the position. If the
final number of candidates is fewer than thre e, the board shall
publicly disclose the names of the c andidate(s).
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2022.

SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the prese rvation
of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
