[ public finance - signage be placed on certain 
funded projects - codification - effective date ] 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 34.701 of Title 62, unless there 
is created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows: 
A. The Legislature finds that the Work Projects Administration 
(WPA) was instrumental in the development of the United State s of 
America. The WPA was a federal program that administered projects 
in cooperation with state and local governments . Projects completed 
by the WPA improved the infrastructure and culture of those cities 
for decades, allowing the United Sta tes to thrive after World War 
II, and continue to stand the test of time today. Upon the 
completion of each project, a plaque was mounted in plain view to 
let the public know the project was constructed for the people of 
that community.  It is the intent of the Legislature to do the same, 
with all infrastructure or construction projects in this state that

are funded partially or fully by the COVID-19 Recovery and 
Resilience Initiative as authorized and administered by Oklahoma’s 
Joint Committee on Pandemic Relief Funding. 
B. All infrastructure or construction projects in this state 
that are funded partially or fully by Oklahoma’s Joint Committee on 
Pandemic Relief Funding shall have signage displayed in a 
prominently visible location at the project site . It is the intent 
of the Legislature that such signage reference the COVID-19 Recovery 
and Resilience Initiative , the Joint Committee on Pandemic Relief 
Funding, and the year completed. The Oklahoma Tourism and 
Recreation Department shall oversee the design and pla cement of any 
such signage on each project. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall becom e effective November 1, 2022.
