AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to the Temporary Assistance for Needy
Families (TANF) program ; amending 56 O.S. 2011,
Section 230.53, which relates to e xclusion of
automobile from determination of applicant ’s
resources; increasing amount of excluded equity
allowance; and providing an effective date .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 56 O.S. 2011, Section 230.53, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 230.53. The Department of Human Services shall exclude
an automobile with an equity all owance of not more than Five
Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) Ten Thousand Dollars ( $10,000.00) from
the determination of resources available to meet the needs of an
applicant for or recipient of benefits under the Temporary
Assistance for Needy Families (TANF ) program.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2021.
