BILL NO. 2094 By: Echols of the House

McCortney of the Senate
An Act relating to higher education institutions;
directing that higher education institutions shall
allow governing board members to audit classes;
prohibiting board members from receiving academic
credit; providing for codification; and providing an
effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAH OMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codi fied
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 24-160 of Title 70, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
A. Being necessary to fulfill their role as a member of the
governing board of their respective Oklahoma higher education
institution, any member of a governing board of a n Oklahoma higher
education institution shall be allowed by the ir institution to audit
a class free of charge.
B. Governing board members who audit a class pursuant to
subsection A of this section may not receive academic credit for the
class or classes audited.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
