BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEO PLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 2 O.S. 2021, Section 6 -193, is amended to read as follows: Section 6-193. A. The Board shall appoint from time to time inspectors to make examinatio n and inspection of all catt le, sheep, swine, goats, horses, m ules, and other equines, the inspection of which is hereby provided for, and of all carcasses and parts thereof, and of all meat and meat food products thereof, and of the sanitary conditions of all establishments in which such meat and meat food products hereinbefore described are prepared; and said inspectors shall refuse to stamp, mark, tag or label any carcass or any part thereof, or meat food product therefrom, prepared in any Req. No. 6600 Page 2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 establishment hereinbefore mentioned, unti l the same shall have actually been inspected and found to be not adulterated; and shall perform such other duties as are provided by this act and by the rules and regulations to be prescribed by said Board and said Board shall, from time to time, make suc h rules and regulations as are necessary for the efficient execution of the provisions of this act, and all inspections and examinations made under this act shall be such and made in such manner as described in the rules and regulations prescribed by said Board not inconsistent with the provisions of this act. B. All inspectors appointed as provided in Section A of this act shall be provided a salary as follows: 1. For the state fiscal years beginning on or after July 1, 2023, and ending on or prior to Ju ne 30, 2025, an amount no less than ninety percent (90%) of the average salary paid to the rank of Trooper for the Oklahoma Highway Pat rol Division of the Department of Public Safety during the state fiscal year ending June 30 2022; and 2. Starting with the state fiscal year beginning on July 1, 2025 and in each state fiscal year that begins in an odd numbered calendar year thereafter, such salary shall be adjusted to be no less than ninety percent (90%) of the average salary paid to the rank of Trooper for the Oklahoma Highw ay Patrol Division of the Department of Public Safety during t he most recent state fi scal year Req. SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023. SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is h ereby declared to exist, by reason w hereof this act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval. 59-1-6600 JM 01/12/23
