Hasenbeck of the House
An Act relating to teachers; requiring certain
teachers who take and pass certain examination to be
reimbursed certain amount; providing for
codification; providing an effective date; and
declaring an emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law t o be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 6-101.9 of Title 70, unless
there is created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follo ws:
A teacher who is certified pursuant to Section 6-122.3 or 6-187
of Title 70 of the Oklahoma Statutes and who, at the request of the
employing school district, takes and pas ses a subject area
competency examination required by Section 6-187 of Title 70 of the
Oklahoma Statutes to earn certification and teach an additional
subject in the school district shall be reimburs ed by the school
district. The reimbursement shall be an amount equal to the cost of
the subject area competency examination.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023.
SECTION 3. It being immediately necess ary for the preservation
of the public peace, health , or safety, an emergency is hereby

declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage and appro val.
