SENATE BILL 590 By: Garvin
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to child care; requiring the
Department of Human Services to institute certain
payment incentive subject to available fun ds;
directing promulgation of ru les; providing for
codification; providing an effective date; and
declaring an emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to b e codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 430.1 of Title 10, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
A. Subject to availability of funding, the Department of Human
Services shall institute a payment incentive fo r child care
facilities that provide child care outside of normal business hours,
as determined by the Director of the Department.
B. The Director shall promulgate rules as necessary to
implement this section.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effe ctive July 1, 2023.
SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby

declared to exist, by reason whereof this a ct shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
