SENATE BILL 678 By: Rogers
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to municipalities; requiring certain
officials be elected by register ed voters; providing
for codification; and providing an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 16-115 of Title 11, unless there
is created a duplicat ion in numbering, reads as follows:
In municipalities with a population of two hundred fifty
thousand (250,000) or more per the last Federal Decennial Census ,
all municipal prosecutors and judges shall be elected pursuant to
Section 16-104 of Title 11 of the Oklahoma Statutes.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective Nov ember 1, 2023.
