HOUSE BILL 1919 By: Fugate
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to open records; mandating open
records requests be cataloged in searchable format on
the Oklahoma Secretary of State website; providing
certain requirements; directing the Oklahoma
Secretary of State to conduct monthly closeout of
fulfilled requests; providing for codification; and
providing an effective date .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA :
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 24A.34 of Title 51, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
Any open records request made of state agencies and other state
bodies under the Oklahoma Open Records Act of state agencies, and
other state bodies shall be cataloged and presented in se archable
form on the Oklahoma Secretary of Sta te website. The catalog shall
include the date on which each request wa s made. The Secretary of
State shall, on a monthly basis, review and close out open records
requests that have been fulfilled. The Secretary of State shall

promulgate rules to carry out their duties in accordance with this
section.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
