AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to landlord and tenant; providing
requirements for eviction notices; providing for
codification; and providing an effectiv e date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 140 of Title 41, unless there is
created a duplication in numbering , reads as follows:
All notices to quit possession or to terminate a lease, also
known as an eviction notice, must comply with the following
requirements:
1. The date and time at which the tenancy will terminate;
2. The legal reason for the eviction base d upon Oklahoma law
with reference to the specific statute ;
3. If and how the eviction is curable prior to termination of
the tenancy;
4. The name and contact information for both the landlord and
the tenant;

5. The eviction notice must be in both the English and Spanish
language.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
