BILL NO. 2484 By: Banning of the House
and
Coleman of the Senate
An Act relating to the Oklahoma Uniform Building Code
Commission; prohibiting any p rovision from being
enacted to prohibit or limit use of refriger ant
designated as federally acceptable; requiring
installation of certain equ ipment to maintain certain
standards and conditions; providing for codification;
and providing an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 1000.30 of Title 59, unless
there is created a du plication in numbering, r eads as follows:
No provision of a building code, any ot her law, regulation, or
other requirement in Oklahoma may p rohibit or otherwise limit the
use of a refrigerant designated as a cceptable for use pursuant to
and in accordance wit h 42 U.S.C., Section 7671k; provided, any
equipment containing such refrigerant is l isted and installed in
accordance with safety standards and use conditions imposed pursuant
to such designation.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023.
