AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to fire suppression; providing for
portable fire extinguishers in mobile food
establishments; providing for annual inspection;
providing for codification; and providing an
effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF T HE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 325.20 of Title 74, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
In lieu of an automatic fire extinguishing system, portable fire
extinguishers shall be installed in mobile food establishments that
produce smoke or grease -laden vapors. All fire extinguishers shall
be inspected annually by a licensed contractor. A Class K-rated,
portable fire extinguisher is required for all cooking equipment
involving solid fuels or vegetable or animal oils and fats. All
portable fire extinguishers shall be in clear view and immediately
available for use.
