COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE 
 
An Act relating to fire suppression; providing for 
portable fire extinguishers in mobile food 
establishments; providing for annual inspection ; 
providing termination date; providing for 
codification; and declaring an emergency. 
 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 325.20 of Title 74, unless there 
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
A.  In lieu of an automatic fire extinguishing system, portable 
fire extinguishers shall be installed in mobile food establishments 
that produce smoke or grease -laden vapors.  All fire extinguishers 
shall be inspected annually by a licensed contractor.  A Class K-
rated, portable fire extinguisher is required for all cooking

equipment involving solid fuels or vegetable or animal oils and 
fats.  All portable fire ex tinguishers shall be in clear view and 
immediately available for use. 
B.  The provisions of this section sha ll cease to have the force 
and effect of law on November 1, 2025. 
SECTION 2.  It being immediately necessary for the preservation 
of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is he reby 
declared to exist, by reason whereof this act sh all take effect and 
be in full force from and after its passage an d approval.
