AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to statutes and reports; requiring
legislative measures for enactment of new law or
amendment of existing law to use gende r neutral
language; providing for codification; and providing
an effective date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section o f law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as S ection 26.51 of Title 75, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, r eads as follows:
Beginning with legislative measures prepared for consideration
in the First Regular Session of the Sixtieth Oklahoma Legislature in
2025, and for each legislati ve session thereafter, whether regular
or extraordinary, all statutes, whether to be codified as new law,
or amendments to then current law, shall be prepared using gender
neutral terms.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
