AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to state government; prohibiting the 
installation of car kill switches; defining term; 
providing for codification; and pro viding an 
effective date. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Secti on 9301 of Title 74, unless there 
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
A.  The Legislature, a state entity, or political subdivision 
shall not enact any law, rule, or ordinance to require any vehicle 
to install a car kill switch in this state. 
B.  As used in this section, “car kill switch” means any of the 
following: 
1.  Fuel line shutoff valves; 
2.  Car battery disconnect switches; 
3.  Remote control car batter y switches; 
4.  Fuse box kill switches; or

SECTION 2.  This act shall become e ffective November 1, 2024.
