COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE
An Act relating to state government; requiring
certain office holders to provide notification to
successor when absent from the state; providing for
codification; and providing an effecti ve date.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes a s Section 8.20 of Title 74, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
Prior to being absent from the state, every office holder listed
in the line of succession provided in Section 15 of Article V I of
the Oklahoma Constitution shall provide electronic notificati on to
his or her successor indicating the start date and time of the
absence and the anticipated return dat e and time.

SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2024.
