An Act relating to wildlife; amending 29 O.S. 2021, 
Section 5-213, as amended by S ection 1, Chapter 253, 
O.S.L. 2022 (29 O.S. Supp. 2022, Section 5-213), 
which relates to air bows; expanding season; allowing 
for a physically disabled person to use air bows 
under certain conditions ; and providing exception for 
certain season. 
 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLA HOMA: 
SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY     29 O.S. 2021, Section 5 -213, as 
amended by Section 1, Chapter 253, O.S.L. 2022 (29 O.S. Supp. 2022, 
Section 5-213), is amended to read as follow s: 
Section 5-213. A. The use of crossbows and convention al 
longbows with a device that permits the bow to be held mechanically 
at full or partial draw, shall be a legal hunting meth od during any 
open season when convent ional longbows are a legal means of take. 
B.  The use of air bows shall be a legal hunting me thod during 
any open season when rifles, archery, or primitive firearms are a 
legal means of take, except as otherwise provided in subsection C of 
this section.  No person may hunt or take dur ing the open season

with an air bow unless the person has first obtained a stamp issued 
by the Oklahoma Wildlife Cons ervation Commission for a one-time fee 
of Twenty Dollars ($20.00). 
C. 1.  A permanently physically disabled person may use an air 
bow as a legal hunting method during any open season. 
2.  A person using an air bow as a legal hunting method during 
the archery deer season shall be limited to antlerless deer only. 
3. A person may use an air bow as a legal hunting method for 
nuisance wildlife or feral swine . 
D.  At such time as the Federal Aid in Wildlife R estoration Act 
is amended to expand the excise tax on sporting arms and ammun ition 
to include air bows and air guns, the stamp pursu ant to subsection B 
of this section shall no longer be re quired, and authorization for 
the continual use of air bows as a le gal means of take shall be 
established by rules pr omulgated by the Commission .
