BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 74 O.S. 2021, Section 666, is amended to read as follows: A. There is hereby created the Oklahoma Commis sion on the Status of Women. The Commission shall consist of thirty (30) thirteen (13) members. The members shall be appointed as follows: ten members appointed by the Governor, ten memb ers appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and ten me mbers appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives. 1. One member of the Senate, appointed b y the President Pro Tempore of the Senate; 2. One member of the House of Representatives , appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives ; Req. One member who represents the general public from a community with a population greater than fifty thousand (50,000), appointed by the Governor; 4. One member who represents the general public from a community with a population between ten thousand (10,000) and forty- nine thousand nine hund red ninety-nine (49,999), appointed by the Governor; 5. One member who represents the general public from a community with a pop ulation under nine thousand nine hundred ninety- nine (9,999), appointed by the Governor; 6. One member who represents the healthcare community, who specializes in women ’s health, appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate; 7. One member who represents the post-secondary education community, who represents career tech education or higher education , appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives; 8. One member who represents the behavioral health community and works specifically with in dividuals who have a history of or are currently battling substance abuse or addiction, appointed by the Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health and Su bstance Abuse Services; 9. One member who represents the Department of Corrections, appointed by the Director of the Department of Corrections; Req. One member who works with victims of domestic violence , human trafficking, stalking, or sexual assault, appointed by the Director of the Dist rict Attorneys Council; 11. One member who represents the education community and represents K-12 education, appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate; 12. One member who represents the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, appointed by the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce; and 13. One member who represents active military members, veterans, and military members of t he reserves and national guard, appointed by the Governor. All members shall be appointed by the appropriate appointing authority for a term of five (5) three (3) years commencing with the date that the previous appointee’s term expired. In making such appointments to the Commission, consideration shall be given to making the membership broadly representative of the geogra phic areas of the state and the several racial, religious and ethnic grou ps residing in the state. Each member shall hold office until the successor of the member is appointed and has qualified. A member of the Commission may be removed by the appropriat e appointing authority for cause. A member appointed to fill a vacancy o ccurring before the expiration of a term of a member separated from the Commission for any cause shall be appointed for the remainder of the Req. Members of the Commission shall receive no salary, but shall be entitled to travel reimbursement as provided by the State Travel Reimbursement Act, Section 500.1 et seq. of this title, from funds available to the appropriate appointing authorit y. B. A member appointed pursuant to the provision s of this act shall be appointed by the appointing agency no later than January 1, 2024. Any members appointed before November 1, 2023, shall serve the remainder of their ter ms. C. The Office of Manageme nt and Enterprise Services shall provide staff support to the Oklahoma Commission on the Status of Women. SECTION 2.
