BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 74 O.S. 2021, Section 666, is amended to read as follows: A. There is hereby created the Oklahoma Commis sion on the Status of Women. The Commission shall consist of thirty (30) seventeen members and two non-voting members. The members shall be appointed as follows: ten members appointed by the Governor, ten members appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and ten members appointed by the Speaker of the H ouse of Representatives. 1. One member of the Senate, appoi nted by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate , who shall be a non-voting member; ENGR. S. B. One member of the House of Representatives , appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, who shall be a non-voting member; 3. One member who represents the general public from a community with a population greater than fifty thousand (50,000), as determined by the latest Federal Decennial Census, appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate; 4. One member who represents the general public from a community with a population greater than fifty thousand (50,000), as determined by the latest Federal Decennial Census, appointed by the Speaker of the House of R epresentatives; 5. One member who represents the general public from a community with a population between ten thousand (10,000) and forty- nine thousand nine hund red ninety-nine (49,999), as determined by the latest Federal Decennial Census, appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate ; 6. One member who represents the general public from a community with a population between ten thousand (10,000) and forty- nine thousand nine hund red ninety-nine (49,999), as determined by the latest Federal Decennial Census, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives ; 7. One member who represents the general public from a community with a population under nine thousand nine hundred ninety- ENGR. S. B. One member who represents the general public from a community with a population under nine thousand nine hundred ninety- nine (9,999), as determined by the latest Federal Decennial Census, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives ; 9. One member who represents the healthcare community, who specializes in women’s health, appointed by the Governor; 10. One member who represents the post-secondary education community, appointed by the Governor; 11. One member who represents the behavioral health community and works specifically with individuals who have a history of or are currently battling substance abuse or addiction, appointed by the Commissioner of Mental Health and Su bstance Abuse Services; 12. One member who represents the Department of Correc tions, appointed by the Director of the Department of Corrections; 13. One member who works with victims of domestic violence , human trafficking, stalking, or sexual assault, appointed by the Executive Coordinator of the District Attorneys Council; 14. One member who represents the education community and represents public K-12 education, appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate; ENGR. S. B. One member who represents the education c ommunity and represents private K-12 education, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives; 16. One member who represents the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, appointed by the Executive Director of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce; 17. One member who represent s a federally recognized Indian tribe in this state, appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate from a list provided by federally recognized Indian tribes in this state; 18. One member who represent s a federally recognized Indian tribe in this state, appointed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives from a list provided by federally recognized Indian tribes in this state; and 19. One member who represents active mi litary members, veterans, and members of the military reserves and National Guard, appointed by the Governor. All members shall be appo inted by the appropriate appointing authority for a term of five (5) four (4) years commencing with the date that the previous appointee’s term expired. A member shall not serve more than two (2) consecutive terms. In making such appointments to the Comm ission, consideration shall be given to making the membership broad ly representative of the geographic areas of the state and the several racial, religious and ethnic grou ps ENGR. Each member shall hold office until the successor of the member is appointed and has qualified. A member of the Commission may be removed by the appropriate appointing authority for cause. A member appointed to fill a vacancy o ccurring before the expiration of a term of a member separated from the Commission for any cause shall be appointed for the remainder of the term of the member whose office has been so vacated. Members of the Commission shall receive no salary, but shall be entitled to travel reimbursement as provided by the State Travel Reimbursement Act , Section 500.1 et seq. of this title, from funds available to the appropriate appointing authority. B. A member appointed pursuant to the provisions of this act shall be appointed by the appointing agency no later than January 1, 2024. Any members appointed before November 1, 2023, shall serve the remainder of their te rms. C. The Office of Management and Enterprise Services shall provide staff support to the Oklahoma Comm ission on the Status of Women. SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2023. ENGR. S.
