NEW LAW A new section of law to b e codified in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 16-14 of Title 2, unless there is created a duplicat ion in numbering, reads as follows: There is hereby created in the State T reasury a revolving fund for the Oklahoma Department of Agr iculture, Food, and Fore stry to be designated the “Wildfire Reimbursement Revolving Fund”. The fund shall be a continuing fund, not subject to fiscal year limitations, and shall consist of all mon ies designated to the fund by law. All monies accruing to the credit of the fund are hereby appropriated and may be budgeted and expended by the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry for the purpose of reimbursement of expenditures of Oklahoma fire departments who participated in extinguishment efforts of fires that: SENATE FLOOR VERSION - SB492 SFLR Page 2 (Bold face denotes Committee Amendments) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 1. Were not fully extinguished in the twenty-four (24) hours after their reporting ; and 2. Involved more than one fire department jurisdiction. Expenditures from the fund shall be made upon warrants issued by the State Treasurer agai nst claims filed as prescribed by law with the Director of the Office of Management and Enterprise Services for approval and payment. SECTION 2. NEW LAW A new section of la w not to be codified in the Oklahoma Statutes reads as follo ws: There is hereby appropriated to the Wildfire Reimbursement Revolving Fund created in Section 1 of this act from any monies not otherwise appropriated from the General Revenue Fund of the State Treasury for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024 , the sum of Five Million Dollars ($5,000,000.00) or so much thereof as may be necessary to perform the duties imposed upon the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food, and Forestry by law. SECTION 3. This act shall become effective July 1, 2023. SECTION 4. It being immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, by reason whereof thi s act shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passag e and approval.
