AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner
Statewide Coordinator; creating certain position;
requiring certain duties; providing for codification;
and providing an effective date .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 215.41 of Title 19, unless there
is created a duplication in numb ering, reads as follows:
Subject to availability of fu nding, there is esta blished within
the District Attorneys Council under the direction of the Executive
Coordinator of the District Attorneys Council , the position of
Sexual Assault Nurse Exam iner (SANE) Statewide Coordinator. The
Statewide Coordinator shall oversee forensic medical examination
training throughout the state, recruit, and develop SANE
professionals, create and expand local Sexual Assault Nurse E xaminer
programs and Sexual Assault Response Team programs throughout this

state, and coordinate payments from the Sex ual Assault Examination
Fund.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effecti ve November 1, 2023.
