AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to criminal procedure; amending 22
O.S. 2021, Section 517, which relates to the
withdrawal of guilty pleas; allowing fo r the
withdrawal of guilty pleas; establishing time
limitation for filing applications; requiring
inclusion of certain information in application; and
providing an effective date .
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 22 O.S. 2021, Section 517, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 517. The court may , at any time before judgment, upon
permit a plea of guilty, permit it to be withdrawn, and a plea of
not guilty substituted if the defendant files an application to
withdraw the plea of guilty within ten (10) days from the date of
the entry of the plea set ting forth in detail the grounds for the
withdrawal of the plea and a request for an evidentiary hearing .

SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
