AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to medical records; providing for 
retention of medical records; providing for 
codification; and providing an effective da te. 
 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     NEW LAW     A new section of law to be codified 
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 5009.7 of Title 63, unless there 
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows: 
The Oklahoma Health Care Authority shall require that healt h 
care providers retain, for not less than a period of ten (10) years, 
any records necessary to disclose the extent of services the health 
care provider, wholly owned supplier, o r subcontractor, furnishes to 
recipients. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
