AS INTRODUCED 
 
An Act relating to transportation; amending 69 O.S. 
2021, Section 1600.1, which relates to dedicating 
state highway system property to hon or individuals; 
establishing procedure s for making dedication to 
military and veteran individuals ; and providing an 
effective date. 
 
 
 
 
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPL E OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA: 
SECTION 1.     AMENDATORY     69 O.S. 202 1, Section 1600.1, is 
amended to read as follows: 
Section 1600.1.  A.  Highways, bridges and other facilities 
which are part of the state highway system may be considere d for 
dedication in honor of individuals deserving of commendation for 
their active involvement in the project or for outstanding service 
to the nation, this state or their community.  Proposals for the 
dedication of state highway facilities should specifi cally state the 
accomplishments upon which the proposal is based.

B.  The Oklahoma Department of Transportation shall maintain a 
digital map identifying all designat ions approved under the Memorial 
Highways and Bridges Program and shall be ma de available on the 
agency website.  This map shall provide the name of the honorees, 
the location and description of the segment of highway, bridge , or 
facility being named, and the reasons for designation , including any 
historical significance.  Upon the availability of funding, the map 
shall be upgraded with interactive multimedia capabilities and othe r 
enhancements to be shared with the public through a web -based 
mapping application so that the public can learn more about the 
individuals or groups being honored. Upon its availability, a link 
to the enhanced mapping system shall be shared with the Oklahoma 
Department of Tourism and Recreation to promote the State of 
Oklahoma. 
C.  All military members and groups who have been honored in the 
Memorial Highways and Bridge s Program shall be identified in the 
Veterans Military Trail Segment which shall be specified on the 
interactive map. 
SECTION 2.  This act shall beco me effective November 1, 2025.
