Digest: The Act tells the OCJC to look at how different types of sentences effect recidivism
rates and make a report about the study. (Flesch Readability Score: 62.1).
Requires the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission to  study the effect of sentencing types on
recidivism rates. Directs the commission to submit findings to the interim committees of the Legis-
lative Assembly related to the judiciary not later than September 15, 2026.
Sunsets on January 2, 2027.
A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to public safety.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1.	The Oregon Criminal Justice Commission shall study the effect of different
types of sentences on rates of recidivism. The commission shall submit a report in the
manner provided by ORS 192.245, and may include recommendations for legislation, to the
interim committees of the Legislative Assembly related to the judiciary no later than Sep-
tember 15, 2026.
SECTION 2.	Section 1 of this 2025 Act is repealed on January 2, 2027.
