A BILL FOR AN ACT
Relating to U.S. Highway 20; and declaring an emergency.
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon:
SECTION 1.	(1) The Department of Transportation shall conduct a study and make a
report on the following:
(a) Recommendations for increasing the capacity of motor vehicle travel on the portion
of U.S. Highway 20 beginning where the highway intersects with Southwest 15th Street, and
ending where the highway intersects with the city limits of the City of Philomath, and for
improving the condition of U.S. Highway 20, beginning at milepost 49 and ending at milepost
94, to a state of good repair;
(b) A cost estimate for the recommended improvements; and
(c) Any other information that the department deems pertinent and useful to share with
the Joint Committee on Transportation.
(2) The department shall submit the report required by this section, and may include
recommendations for legislation, to the Joint Committee on Transportation in the manner
provided under ORS 192.245 no later than September 15, 2026.
SECTION 2.	Section 1 of this 2025 Act is repealed on January 2, 2027.
SECTION 3.This 2025 Act being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
peace, health and safety, an emergency is declared to exist, and this 2025 Act takes effect
July 1, 2025.
