Prohibits the metropolitan transportation authority from establishing certain limitations relating to wheeled carts and the amount of time customers may remain in certain areas of subway stations and from ejecting customers for blocking free movement in a station or on a stairway, elevator, escalator, platform or conveyance.
Requires the New York city department of education to study and report on students who would likely pass the Specialized High Schools Admissions Test and be admitted to a specialized high school; provides that such report shall be issued to the governor, temporary president of the senate and speaker of the assembly no later than February 28, 2024.
Restricts the rental of safety recalled cars until they are repaired in accordance with the recall; requires disclosure of such recall notices to prospective vehicle renters if such recalled cars have not been repaired.
Authorizes self-submission of vehicle photographs and inspection for auto insurance for personal insurance; not applicable to vehicles insured by the New York automobile insurance plan.
Renames the state aid for certain independent institutions of higher learning to the Leonard P. Stavisky student success grants; requires certain institutions and colleges to submit a report on the use of the state aid apportionment received including how it supported student success.
Creates a city-wide council for district seventy-five to advise and comment on educational or instructional policies involving district seventy-five services.
Establishes the bottle redemption fraud task force to provide the governor and the legislature with information on the fraud, enforcement, and reporting requirements related to the New York state returnable container act.
Prohibits publicly traded pharmacies with twenty or more stores in this state from establishing or enforcing quotas for duties performed by pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, including evaluating or measuring the number of prescriptions filled, services rendered, programs offered and revenue obtained.
Ensures that there are at least two fiscal intermediaries headquartered in each county with a population of two hundred thousand or more; provides additional awards to entities providing fiscal intermediary services if they meet certain criteria in order to ensure regional choice and experience serving individuals with developmental disabilities and racial and ethnic minorities.
