Relates to requiring a certificate of merit in proceedings to recover possession of real property; requires the petition shall be accompanied by a certificate, signed by the attorney for the petitioner, certifying that the attorney has reviewed the facts of the case and that, based on consultation with representatives of the petitioner identified in the certificate and the attorney's review of pertinent documents, there is a reasonable basis for the commencement of such action; provides that where a petitioner willfully fails to provide copies of required papers and documents the court may dismiss the petition without prejudice.
Lowers the threshold for eligibility for the appropriation of moneys for the promotion of agriculture and domestic arts from five thousand dollars to two thousand five hundred dollars.
Deems home instruction which is compliant with the provisions of article 65 of the education law and the home instruction requirements prescribed in the commissioner of education's regulations to be substantially equivalent in amount and quality to the instruction given to students of like age and attainments at the public schools of the city or district where the student resides.
Provides that a student enrolled in an individualized education program during certain school years may continue to receive educational services until the student completes the services pursuant to the individualized education program or the end of the school year during which the student turns twenty-two years old, whichever is sooner.
Requires nursing certificate and degree education programs to include clinical education; allows for one-third of such clinical education to be completed through simulation experience.
Relates to certificates of honorable separation from or service in the armed forces of the United States; provides that such certificates shall be forwarded to the appropriate local veterans' service agency within 60 days of receipt.
Establishes the intent of the legislature to generally defer to parental choices regarding the care, custody and control of their children; mandates that the death of a parent shall be a factor when considering a grandparent's standing to receive visitation or custody; directs that costs be payable by an unsuccessful petitioner where a contest was brought in bad faith.
Relates to providing notice of quorum requirements to applicants for building or site permits, variances, or subdivision plats at zoning board of appeals, local planning board, county planning board, and regional planning council meetings.
Establishes recreational vehicle dealer agreements; defines terms; provides that a manufacturer or distributor may not sell a recreational vehicle in this state to or through a dealer without having first entered into a manufacturer/dealer agreement with a dealer which has been signed by both parties; provides that a manufacturer or distributor, directly or through any authorized officer, agent or employee, may not terminate, cancel or fail to renew a manufacturer/dealer agreement without good cause; makes related provisions.
