Requires the display of certain labels and warnings on gas stoves sold, displayed for sale, or offered for sale at retail to a consumer in this state; authorizes the department of state to adopt regulations regarding the placement and format of such labels; provides for penalties; authorizes the attorney general to enforce such provisions.
Requires the office of court administration, clerks, and all other records custodians to develop policies and procedures to ensure no identifying information or documentation relating to name change actions or sex designation change actions is visible or retrievable in any electronic database maintained by the state of New York or a subdivision thereof.
Includes oral nicotine pouches in the prohibition against selling or offering for sale at retail, or distribution of any flavored vapor product intended or reasonably expected to be used with or for the consumption of nicotine.
Provides that certain communications made without malice regarding an incident of sexual assault, harassment or discrimination shall be deemed privileged; provides that a prevailing defendant in an action brought against such defendant for making a communication that is privileged shall be entitled to attorney's fees and costs for such defense.
Extends liability of certain agencies for negligence in the placement of a child in the authorized agency's custody, or in the supervision of a foster home or foster parents; extends jurisdiction of the court of claims to certain claims for injuries to a child.
Prohibits libraries and library systems, including school libraries and school library systems from banning books or other materials based on partisan or doctrinal disapproval.
Extends certain provisions relating to authorizing New York city marshals to exercise the same functions, powers and duties as sheriffs with respect to the execution of money judgments of the supreme and family courts of the city of New York; requires New York city marshals to post and electronically file notices of eviction.
Requires limited services pregnancy centers to disclose to clients that they do not have a licensed medical provider on staff who provides or supervises reproductive health services at such center; requires such disclosure to be provided in writing and orally, and to be available in English and Spanish; provides for reporting of violations; provides penalties for violations.
Provides that any person who has served as a state-paid judge or justice of a court of the unified court system or as a housing judge of the housing portion of the civil court of the city of New York, but who no longer holds any of such offices, may apply to be designated as a judicial hearing officer.
Authorizes an application to be made in family court for the name change of a child under eighteen as part of a pending, related proceeding; makes related provisions.
Prohibits the use of an algorithmic device by a landlord for the purpose of determining the amount of rent to charge a residential tenant; declares that such use is an unfair or deceptive trade practice.
