Establishes a sales tax exemption for certain products purchased for less than five hundred dollars commencing on the fourth Friday in November and ending on the twenty-sixth day of December.
Establishes the everyone can play grant program which allows for grants up to $100,000 to municipalities to cover the costs for the creation of handicap accessible aspects in new or existing recreation facilities.
Establishes training and registration requirements for patient care technicians; requires training programs to be conducted by hospitals, residential health care facilities, home care services agencies, degree and non-degree granting institutions of higher education, or any other entity approved by the commissioner to conduct such a program; provides such training shall include, but not be limited to an overview of the roles and responsibilities of patient care technicians in hospitals, residential care facilities and the home care environment, an overview of various patient care services provided in hospitals, residential care facilities and the home care environment, and the legal scope of practice for patient care technicians; defines terms.
Authorizes the court to order sexual offenders on probation, where such probation has been revoked, to terms of imprisonment which run consecutively to sentences already being served.
Relates to subjecting the Caumsett State Historic Park Preserve in the county of Suffolk, and Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park in the county of Nassau to taxation for all purposes.
Prohibits the siting and construction of battery energy storage systems and related facilities, systems, infrastructure, and substations of any scale and possessing any storage capacity in assembly district 63; provides for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof.
Authorizes the board of education of any school district in the state to enter into a contract for the sale of advertising space on school athletic fields owned or leased by the school district; prohibits advertisements for tobacco or alcohol products or for political advocacy; requires prior approval of all advertisements by the local board of education; provides that revenue be retained by the school district making such contract; provides provisions do not apply to cities with a population of one million or more.
Increases the total awards of the Senator Patricia K. McGee nursing faculty scholarship program by covering the total cost of a recipient's academic program.
Requires parental notice prior to the performance of an abortion upon an unemancipated minor; defines unemancipated minor as person less than eighteen years of age; allows for waiver of such notice in limited instances; establishes circumstances and procedures for proceedings to obtain an order waiving such parental notification.
Restricts the application of requirements in any procurement for the manufacturing or retrofitting of zero emission vehicles and charging or fueling infrastructure that the components and parts used or supplied in the performance of the contract or any subcontract thereto shall be produced or made in whole or substantial part in the United States to align with federal domestic procurement preferences and exemptions with respect thereto.
Improves the transportation of children with special needs to and from school; provides that bussing time shall not exceed one and one-half hours; provides a special needs liaison to work with each family with a child with special needs; makes related provisions.
Requires school districts and board of cooperative educational services to pay physical therapists and occupational therapists in alignment with the department's career ladder pathway framework; makes related provisions.
