Directs the commissioner of health, in consultation with the commissioner of education, the commissioner of mental health, the commissioner of corrections and community supervision and the state board of pharmacy, to promulgate and implement rules and regulations authorizing the use of automated patient dispensing and storage systems for distribution of prescription and non-prescription drugs and medical devices at certain facilities.
Establishes the "childcare and early education sector on the economy act" to study the economic impact on the state economy of quality childcare and early education programs for children aged 0-4, and afterschool programs for children aged 5-12.
Requires the introduction of coursework or training in nutrition for physicians on a periodic basis; provides for certain exceptions to such requirement.
Authorizes the posting by each municipality of turtle crossing signs on local roads located within such municipality; empowers the state commissioner of transportation to develop and implement rules and regulations authorizing municipalities to post turtle crossing signs on local roads located within the municipality.
Requires not-for-profit hospitals inform patients that low to moderate-income persons may qualify for help with medical bills through such hospitals' charitable programs by disclosing such information to patients, posting such information conspicuously, and through social workers.
Requires coverage for hearing aids for patients who are covered under a policy or contract of insurance if the hearing aids are fitted and dispensed by a licensed audiologist certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association following medical clearance by a physician licensed to practice medicine and an audiological evaluation.
Includes doulas as medical services providers for Medicaid recipients; directs the commissioner of health to submit an application for amendments and waivers to add doulas to such coverage pursuant to section 363-e of the social services law; directs the commissioner of health and the commissioner of the office of children and family services to add, amend and/or repeal any rule or regulation necessary.
Requires the division of state police and local police departments to notify a licensed child day care center or group day care home in the area of certain emergency situations.
Authorizes Ministerio Sion New York, Inc. to retroactively apply for a real property tax exemption for the 2022-2023 school year and 2023 general taxes for certain property located at 97 New Hyde Park Road in the hamlet of Franklin Square, town of Hempstead, county of Nassau.
