Establishes a veterans in agriculture assistance and outreach program to help integrate veterans into the field of agriculture, and support veterans currently working in agriculture; designs an associated logotype for the promotion of products produced by a veteran or qualified veteran business entity.
Relates to decreasing the length of the suspension period applicable to certain individuals who lose their jobs due to a labor dispute, such as a strike, and who seek to obtain unemployment insurance benefits; decreases the suspension period from two consecutive weeks to one week; provides that the waiting period and suspension period shall be served concurrently.
Allows students attending agricultural learning events to be counted as in attendance at school; defines "agricultural learning events" as including FFA events and 4-H programs.
Repeals certain provisions establishing a fee for background checks on certain firearm and ammunition purchases; removes such fees as a source of funds for the background check fund.
Provides that contributions made by any person, firm, association or corporation to a member of the state legislature which are intended to be used by such member or on behalf of such member for the payment of legal services and other charges in connection with the legal defense of such member in any past or pending civil or criminal action shall be subject to similar monetary limitations and disclosure requirements set forth in the election law pertaining to campaign contributions.
Permits teachers licensed in another state to teach in New York while completing state-specific teaching certification or licensure requirements; establishes such requirements must be met within one year from the date such teacher began teaching in New York.
Relates to annual vehicular access for active duty service members; requires annual passes be issued to active duty service members and their immediate families at state parks or recreational facilities upon presentation of a military identification card.
Provides milk dealers and agricultural food product transporters with electronic toll collection devices free of charge; requires the department of transportation to reimburse the thruway authority and the metropolitan transportation authority for costs incurred in providing such toll collection devices.
Provides that a taxing jurisdiction which has opted out of the exemption from taxation for certain energy systems may not offer the exemption for specific or single projects; requires that a jurisdiction which changes its status relating to the exemption must do so within 120 days prior to the taxable status date; provides that such change shall be valid for one year.
Relates to adding St. Lawrence county sheriff as an additional firearms licensing officer as well as judges or justices of a court of record having an office in the county of St. Lawrence.
Requires solar facilities to conspicuously post safety data sheets in areas that may be accessed by emergency responders in the case of a fire or other emergency.
Prohibits the use of SUNY dormitories for the purposes of providing permanent or temporary housing for migrant populations; requests the board of trustees adopt a policy stating such.
