Increases reimbursement rates paid by the state to cities for repair and maintenance of state arterials; provides rate would be raised to one dollar and eighty cents from eighty-five cents per square yard of the pavement area that is included in the state highway system and an additional twenty cents, up from ten cents, per square yard of such pavement area where such pavement area is located on any elevated bridge.
Allows retired state police officers to serve as police officers for local police departments without diminution of retirement benefits; empowers the superintendent of state police to approve such service.
Establishes a municipal senior center capital support program in the office for the aging to assist municipalities in accessing capital funds necessary for the purchase of senior buses; directs the director of the office for the aging to develop an application and establish criteria for the disbursement of grants to eligible municipalities for the purpose of procuring senior buses; makes an appropriation.
Expands agricultural tourism to include, but not be limited to, the production and processing of grapes, grains or other crops used to create alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in an on-farm brewery, winery, cidery, meadery or distillery, the production and processing of fiber such as sheep or alpaca wool, and the production of processed food commodities, including but not limited to ice cream, jams, baked goods and similar items.
Allows school resource officers to be hired with salary aidable to the school district; raises retirement salaries for such officers to fifty thousand dollars.
Permits licensed insurance agents, brokers, adjusters, consultants, and intermediaries to carryover up to five hours of continuing education credit per biennial licensing period.
